ICONS concept: “Myth is at the same time a reality warping device and a structured setof beliefs producing the rationale behind social rites. Rituals, on the other hand, are a means to express tribal needs, expectations and traditional knowledge. Today they have evolved into commercial icons, appealing and sex-driven adulterators of our common sense. The way modern art represents these icons can be cheerful or brutally satirical, focused as it is on revealing the void behind pop references and status symbols iconography. The result is a lustful, daring, flamboyant display of the clash between classic ethos and contemporary mythology.”
